Farmhouse Halloween Décor!! I can hardly believe that September is upon us meaning the holidays are just around the corner! I am excited to share this post with you both because it’s the first reveal of this room since we made all the changes! If you follow me on Instagram you know that this room has come a long way in the last 2 weeks! First I added wainscoting, then freshened up all the paint and painted over the old light blue with this creamy white called “Farmhouse” by Behr. Next I decided on a whim to sell our old couch and replace it with this perfectly farmhouse Ektorp corner sectional from Ikea! And I also took down the mantle and painted it a stark white to match the wainscoting (not pictured but will be showing off its new paint job for our farmhouse fall home décor!
I’ll admit that I have sadly skipped over Halloween decor the last couple years!! Last year I didn’t even decorate for FALL (what is wrong with me?!) I’ll admit that my shop took over my life the last couple years so I was so excited to finally have the time to go for it and do farmhouse inspired Halloween decor this year!! It helps that I have a fresh new canvas to work with to really get me excited to spiff it up! If you’d like to see the process I go through to get 50 billion pillows perfectly placed all over the couch here is a little video of me doing just that!
Growing up my Mom was so good about making the holidays magical! She decorated for every season and she even made our costumes from scratch nearly every year! I had several years in a row that I requested to be a“TY” beanie baby bear she whipped up gold wings and hand drawn purple roses to make those costumes come to life! I didn’t realize until I was older just how special those sentiments where and I hope I can do the same special things for my kids during the holiday season!
I figured since bats, and ghosts are not exactly my jam, I would put my own spin on Halloween décor by adding pretty florals and a graphic sign (which I’ll be sharing a video tutorial on how to create your own!) and of course lots of black and white pillows curtesy my amazing seamstress Rachel over at Little Bits of Everything! I love that these pillows are perfect for Halloween but also can be used every day! I struggle with buying home décor elements that only serve a single purpose! I like to have items I can use over and over again! These definitely fit the bill!
I hope you enjoyed seeing this room with all its new changes and enjoyed this farmhouse inspired Halloween décor! If you have any fun traditions that your family does during Halloween please share them in the comments! I love to hear what traditions each family has!
